Have you ever wished you could make friends based on your music taste? Inspired by my love of music and the many friendships I've made through shared music tastes, Soundstyle was a website that used live data from Spotify and p5.js code to generate a visualisation of the user’s music taste through a flower. These visualisations were made into badges, which can be worn by users to showcase and identify others with similar music tastes.
Patchwork is a 30-page publication documenting a university group project about designing solutions to climate change. The group project outcome was a zine and website that encouraged the conscious consumption of clothing. The textile scraps, which were collected from Central Saint Martin’s fashion studio, highlight the project’s aim of reducing waste.
Born out of our mutual love for Japanese fashion and cute art, Harajuku Haven began in 2024 as a passion project run by Mae Rose and I. We primarily run an exhibition that showcases creatives in the J-fashion community all across the UK, but we have created a whole community around Harajuku Haven through monthly meet-ups and events! So far, we have had more than 1500 attendees across two instalments of the exhibition. As the graphic designer for Harajuku Haven, I create most of the exhibition ephemera. The creative direction is inspired by my own love of 2000s Japanese stationery and fashion magazines.
As a creative who wears Lolita fashion, I’ve always been fascinated with the alternative fashion scene here in London that I am a part of. In this zine, we step into the intimate spaces of ten alternative fashion enthusiasts, capturing their wardrobes—where clothing, stripped of its wearer, becomes a blank canvas. Here, fashion is laid bare, waiting to be brought to life by those who give it meaning. These individuals are more than just consumers; they are curators of their identities, using fashion as a medium for self-expression. Through personal interviews and photography, they reveal their connections to fashion, consumption, and identity, showing us what it truly means to wear your heart on your sleeve.
